Appraisal of Climate Response to Vegetation Indices over Tropical Climate Region in India

چکیده
Extreme climate events are becoming increasingly frequent and intense due to the global change. The present investigation aims ascertain nature of climatic variables association with vegetation such as Leaf Area Index (LAI) Normalized Difference Vegetation (NDVI). In this study, impact change respect dynamics has been investigated over Indian state Haryana based on monthly yearly time-scale during time period 2010 2020. A time-series analysis was carried out using MODIS-derived NDVI LAI datasets. spatial mean for all except rainfall (taken sum data compute accumulated rainfall) parameters analyzed study area basis. liaison were assessed at multi-temporal scale basis Pearson correlation coefficients. results obtained from reveals that strong significant relationship cropping months area. contrast, non-cropping months, weakens but remains 0.05 significance level. Furthermore, relative humidity depict positive LAI. On other, negative trends observed in case other limitations viz. saturation values lower sensitivity higher influence aerosol optical depth be much compared NDVI. findings confirmed satellite-derived indices significantly useful towards advancement knowledge about between dynamics.

Abrupt tropical vegetation response to rapid climate changes.
Identifying leads and lags between high- and low-latitude abrupt climate shifts is needed to understand where and how such events were triggered. Vascular plant biomarkers preserved in Cariaco basin sediments reveal rapid vegetation changes in northern South America during the last deglaciation, 15,000 to 10,000 years ago. Comparing the biomarker records to climate proxies from the same sedimen...

Mountains over the world are considered as the indicators of climate change. The Himalayas is comprised of five ranges viz., Pir Panjal, Great Himalayas, Zanskar, Ladhak and Karakorum. Ladakh region lies in the northern most state of India, Jammu and Kashmir, in the Ladhak range. It has a unique cold-arid climate and lies immediately south of the Karakorum range. With scarce water resources, su...

A new, non-flux-corrected, global climate model is introduced, the Kiel Climate Model (KCM), which will be used to study internal climate variability from interannual to millennial time scales and climate predictability of the first and second kind. The version described here is a coarse-resolution version that will be employed in extended-range integrations of several millennia. KCM’s performa...

[1] We have analyzed the mean climate response pattern following large tropical volcanic eruptions back to the beginning of the 17th century using a combination of proxybased reconstructions and modern instrumental records of cold-season surface air temperature. Warm anomalies occur throughout northern Eurasia, while cool anomalies cover northern Africa and the Middle East, extending all the wa...
